Here's the original STS track, three straights at the moment and I've wired it up to an old Scalextric Sport Power base and controllers. You can also see some of the 'home made' track!

The home made track is made out of old 'Lino' type material that I managed to get from work, they were throwing these out, so I managed to get hold of 4 sheets. Each layer is three deep and the river sections (I will get round to painting all of the track eventually) have been cut already for the slots. The river curves across the bottom section of the layout and I envisage the Land Rovers coming down a track and driving into the water, I plan to have a very rocky river, with lots of stones and obstacles.

Some final pictures, the first shows the STS track straights, with wood alongside, I plan to eventually make a stone wall out of the wood, but this is to give you scale:
