STS or Super Track System was produced in Spain in the mid to late 1980's, and was created to re-enact the excitement of the Camel Trophy and Paris Dakar 4x4 events of the 80’s and earlier.

At 1:43 scale, it is smaller than normal sized Scalextrics (1:32), but the vehicles will work on the larger sized Scalextrics track. STS Vehicles were designed with a clever slot guide at the end of a spring loaded arm and when added to a 4x4 drive system ensured that the vehicles could climber over a series of obstacles, while the guide remains in contact with the track.

I first became interested in STS through my love of Land Rovers as STS produced a number of Camel Trophy Land Rovers, I currently have eleven of these vehicles, which I think leaves me only with a few missing from the original 'Official' and 'non-official' Production runs.

A great source of information on STS comes courtesy of Peter Zivanovic, from his excellent website http://www.zcarslotracing.co.uk/, which first got me interested in STS! (Although I'm not sure if he continues to update the site)
